We look forward to sharing with you a new selection of hand-knotted, 100% wool area rugs, hand-picked in Pakistan. The rugs will arrive in a few weeks, for now, enjoy this photo-journey of the wonders of hand-knotted Oriental rugs in Pakistan.

A large collection of hand-knotted rugs

My most recent buying trip took me to the city of Lahore in Pakistan -- the second largest city in the country -- where I hand-selected a beautiful assortment of handmade rugs, from Chobis to Peshawar, Bokharas to Gabbehs, and some new takes on old designs with fresh color palettes.

I visited with the workers who prepare the wool, the weavers who masterfully - and by hand - transform the wool fibers into rugs, and the people who do the final steps of washing and trimming the rugs to make them ready to decorate your homes.

Before making my way back to the states, I took some time to tour the city, stopping at a garden and a mosque.
